उद्यानानि हि सायाह्ने क्रीडित्वोपरतैर्नरैः।
समन्ताद्विप्रधावद्भिः प्रकाशन्ते ममान्यदा।
तान्यद्यानुरुदन्तीव परित्यक्तानि कामिभिः॥

udyānāni hi sāyāhne krīḍitvoparatair naraiḥ
samantād vipradhāvadbhiḥ prakāśante mamānyadā
tāny adyānurudantīva parityaktāni kāmibhiḥ
udyānāni hi = in the gardens; sāyāhne = after the evening had passed; krīḍitvā = would sport; uparataiḥ = cease their sports; naraiḥ = men; samantāt = all over [Ayodhyā]; vipradhāvadbhiḥ = and then early the next morning rush [back to their homes]; prakāśante mama = I have noticed that; anyadā = previously; tāni = those gardens; adya = today; anurudanti iva = seem to be lamenting; parityaktāni = having been given up; kāmibhiḥ = by the passionate.
I have noticed that previously all over [Ayodhyā], men would sport in the gardens after the evening had passed and then early the next morning cease their sports and rush [back to their homes]. Today those gardens seem to be lamenting, having been given up by the passionate.
