Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 71: Bharata Reaches Ayodhyā
Text 2.71.28
चन्दनागरुसंपृक्तो धूपसंमूर्च्छितोऽतुलः।
प्रवाति पवनः श्रीमान्किं नु नाद्य यथापुरम्॥
candanāgaru-sampṛkto dhūpa-sammūrcchito ’tulaḥ
pravāti pavanaḥ śrīmān kiṁ nu nādya yathā-puram
candana-agaru-sampṛktaḥ = blended with fragrance of sandalwood and agaru; dhūpa-sammūrcchitaḥ = and filled with [sacrificial] smoke; atulaḥ = an incomparable; pravāti = blow about; pavanaḥ = wind; śrīmān = pleasant; kim nu = why; na = doesn’t; adya = now; yathā-puram = as before.
Why doesn’t an incomparable pleasant wind blended with the fragrance of sandalwood and agaru, and filled with [sacrificial] smoke, blow about now as before?
