Chapter 71: Bharata Reaches Ayodhyā
Text 2.71.34
स त्वनेकाग्रहृदयो द्वाः स्थं प्रत्यर्च्य तं जनम्।
सूतमश्वपतेः क्लान्तमब्रवीत्तत्र राघवः॥
sa tv anekāgra-hṛdayo dvāḥsthaṁ pratyarcya taṁ janam
sūtam aśva-pateḥ klāntam abravīt tatra rāghavaḥ
saḥ tu = He; aneka-agra-hṛdayaḥ = Bharata’s mind was agitated; dvāḥstham = sent back the gatekeeper; pratyarcya = respectfully; tam = to the; janam sūtam = charioteer; aśva-pateḥ = sent by the King of Kekaya [as follows]; klāntam = tired; abravīt = spoke; tatra = then; rāghavaḥ = the descendant of Raghu.
Bharata’s mind was agitated. He respectfully sent back the gatekeeper. The descendant of Raghu then spoke to the tired charioteer sent by the King of Kekaya [as follows].
