Chapter 71: Bharata Reaches Ayodhyā
Text 2.71.36
श्रुता नो यादृशाः पूर्वं नृपतीनां विनाशने।
आकारांस्तानहं सर्वानिह पश्यामि सारथे॥
śrutā no yādṛśāḥ pūrvaṁ nṛ-patīnāṁ vināśane
ākārāṁs tān ahaṁ sarvān iha paśyāmi sārathe
śrutāḥ naḥ = we have heard about; yādṛśāḥ = like those; pūrvam = in the past; nṛ-patīnām = kings; vināśane = when died; ākārān = features [of the city]; tān = the; aham = I; sarvān = all; iha = here; paśyāmi = see; sārathe = O charioteer.
O charioteer, I see here all the features [of the city] like those we have heard about when kings died in the past.
Bharata will point out the features of the city [that He has in His mind] from the next verse.
