Text 2.71.39
अपेतमाल्यशोभान्यप्यसंमृष्टाजिराणि च।
देवागाराणि शून्यानि न चाभान्ति यथापुरम्॥
apeta-mālya-śobhāny apy asammṛṣṭājirāṇi ca
devāgarāṇi śūnyāni na cābhānti yathā-puram
apeta-mālya-śobhāni api = the temples are devoid of the beauty of garlands by their gates; asammṛṣṭa-ajirāṇi = their courtyards are unclean; ca = and; deva-āgarāṇi śūnyāni = the temples [themselves] are empty; na ca ābhānti = they don’t appear; yathā-puram = as they used to in the past.
