Chapter 72: Kaikeyī Informs Bharata About Daśaratha’s Death
Text 2.72.10
राजवाक्यहरैर्दूतैस्त्वर्यमाणोऽहमागतः।
यदहं प्रष्टुमिच्छामि तदम्बा वक्तुमर्हति॥
rāja-vākya-harair dūtais tvaryamāṇo ’ham āgataḥ
yad ahaṁ praṣṭum icchāmi tad ambā vaktum arhati
rāja-vākya-haraiḥ = who conveyed the king’s instruction; dūtaiḥ = by the messengers; tvaryamāṇaḥ = upon being rushed; aham = I; āgataḥ = came here; yat = whatever; aham = I; praṣṭum icchāmi = ask about; tat1 ambā = mother; vaktum arhati = tell Me.
I came here upon being rushed by the messengers who conveyed the king’s instruction. Mother, tell Me whatever I ask about.
