Chapter 72: Kaikeyī Informs Bharata About Daśaratha’s Death
Text 2.72.12
राजा भवति भूयिष्ठमिहाम्बाया निवेशने।
तमहं नाद्य पश्यामि द्रष्टुमिच्छन्निहागतः॥
rājā bhavati bhūyiṣṭham ihāmbāyā niveśane
tam ahaṁ nādya paśyāmi draṣṭum icchann ihāgataḥ
rājā = the king; bhavati = is; bhūyiṣṭham = mostly; iha = here; ambāyāḥ = My mother’s; niveśane = in residence; tam = him [here]; aham = [but] I; na = don’t; adya = now; paśyāmi = see; draṣṭum icchan = to see him; iha āgataḥ = I came.
The king is mostly here in My mother’s residence. [But] I don’t see him [here] now. I came to see him.
