Chapter 72: Kaikeyī Informs Bharata About Daśaratha’s Death
Text 2.72.31
क्व स पाणिः सुखस्पर्शस्तातस्याक्लिष्टकर्मणः।
येन मां रजसा ध्वस्तमभीक्ष्णं परिमार्जति॥
kva sa pāṇiḥ sukha-sparśas tātasyākliṣṭa-karmaṇaḥ
yena māṁ rajasā dhvastam abhīkṣṇaṁ parimārjati
kva = where did go; saḥ = and his palm; pāṇiḥ = palm; sukha-sparśaḥ = so happy to touch; tātasya = My father’s; akliṣṭa-karmaṇaḥ = he was innocent in character; yena = and he would; mām = Me when I came [to him]; rajasā dhvastam = the dust off; abhīkṣṇam = always; parimārjati = would remove.
“Where did My father’s palm, so happy to touch, go? He was innocent in character and his palm would always remove the dust off Me when I came [to him].
