किं नु कार्यं हतस्येह मम राज्येन शोचतः।
विहीनस्याथ पित्रा च भ्रात्रा पितृसमेन च॥
kiṁ nu kāryaṁ hatasyeha mama rājyena śocataḥ
vihīnasyātha pitrā ca bhrātrā pitṛ-samena ca
kim nu = what; kāryam = is the use; hatasya = My good fortune is destroyed; iha = now; mama = for Me; rājyena = of a kingdom; śocataḥ = I am distraught; vihīnasya = without; atha = and; pitrā ca = My father; bhrātrā = and brother; pitṛ-samena = equal to My father; ca = and.
What is the use of a kingdom for Me now? My good fortune is destroyed and I am distraught without My father and My brother who is equal to My father?
