Chapter 73: Bharata Decides to Bring Rāma Back
Text 2.73.10
ननु त्वार्योऽपि धर्मात्मा त्वयि वृत्तिमनुत्तमाम्।
वर्तते गुरुवृत्तिज्ञो यथा मातरि वर्तते॥
nanu tv āryo ’pi dharmātmā tvayi vṛttim anuttamām
vartate guru-vṛttijño yathā mātari vartate
nanu tu = it is a fact that; āryaḥ = My elder [brother] Rāma; api = also; dharma-ātmā = of a devoted mind; tvayi = unto you; vṛttim = service; anuttamām = excellent service; vartate = and that He renders; guru-vṛttijñaḥ = knows how to serve His elders; yathā = just as; mātari = unto His mother; vartate = He renders.
It is also a fact that My elder [brother] Rāma of a devoted mind knows how to serve His elders and that He renders service unto you just as He renders excellent service unto His mother.
