Chapter 73: Bharata Decides to Bring Rāma Back
Text 2.73.12
तस्याः पुत्रं कृतात्मानं चीरवल्कलवाससम्।
प्रस्थाप्य वनवासाय कथं पापे न शोचसि॥
tasyāḥ putraṁ kṛtātmānaṁ cīra-valkala-vāsasam
prasthāpya vana-vāsāya kathaṁ pāpe na śocasi
tasyāḥ = of such a dhārmika lady; putram = son; kṛta-ātmānam = the self-disciplined; cīra-valkala-vāsasam = to dress in clothes made from bark; prasthāpya = after sending; vana-vāsāya = and reside in the forest; katham = how; pāpe = sinful woman; na śocasi = can you not lament.
Sinful woman, how can you not lament after sending the self-disciplined son of such a dhārmika lady to dress in clothes made from bark and reside in the forest?
