उत्पन्ना तु कथं बुद्धिस्तवेयं पापदर्शिनि।
साधुचारित्रविभ्रष्टे पूर्वेषां नो विगर्हिता॥

utpannā tu kathaṁ buddhis taveyaṁ pāpa-darśini
sādhu-cāritra-vibhraṣṭe pūrveṣāṁ no vigarhitā

utpannā tu = did arise; katham = how; buddhiḥ = idea; tava = in you; iyam = this; pāpa-darśini = you are of sinful vision; sādhu-cāritra-vibhraṣṭe = you have deviated from saintly behavior; pūrveṣām = by predecessors; naḥ = our; vigarhitā = condemned.

You are of sinful vision. You have deviated from saintly behavior. How did this idea condemned by our predecessors arise in you?
