Chapter 74: Bharata Condemns Kaikeyī
Text 2.74.8
कौसल्या च सुमित्रा च याश्चान्या मम मातरः।
दुःखेन महताविष्टास्त्वां प्राप्य कुलदूषिणीम्॥
kausalyā ca sumitrā ca yāś cānyā mama mātaraḥ
duḥkhena mahatāviṣṭās tvāṁ prāpya kula-dūṣiṇīm
kausalyā ca = Queens Kausalyā; sumitrā ca = Sumitrā; yāḥ ca anyā mama = and My other; mātaraḥ = mothers; duḥkhena = distress; mahatā = by great; āviṣṭāḥ = would be overcome; tvām = you [as their co-wife]; prāpya = upon attaining; kula-dūṣiṇīm = [for] you have contaminated the dynasty.
Queens Kausalyā, Sumitrā and My other mothers would be overcome by great distress upon attaining you [as their co-wife for] you have contaminated the dynasty.
