यत्प्रधानासि तत्पापं मयि पित्रा विनाकृते।
भ्रातृभ्यां च परित्यक्ते सर्वलोकस्य चाप्रिये॥
yat-pradhānāsi tat pāpaṁ mayi pitrā vinā-kṛte
bhrātṛbhyāṁ ca parityakte sarva-lokasya cāpriye
yat-pradhānā asi = that you were predominated by; tat = the; pāpam = sin; mayi = has come to Me; pitrā = of My father; vinā-kṛte = and hence I am devoid; bhrātṛbhyām = by My two brothers; ca = and; parityakte = abandoned; sarva-lokasya ca = the entire world; apriye = O lady who has displeased.
O lady who has displeased the entire world, the sin that you were predominated by has come to Me and hence I am devoid of My father and abandoned by My two brothers.1
1 It should be remembered that since Bharata is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, He is not subject to any sinful reactions. However, such talks are useful for the conditioned souls eager to learn how to avoid becoming contaminated by sinful reactions while surrendering unto the Supreme Lord.
“The sin that you were predominated by” means “the sinful reaction born out of the sinful action you have been predominated by.”
