Chapter 74: Bharata Condemns Kaikeyī
Text 2.74.17
अधस्ताद्व्रजतस्तस्याः सुरराज्ञो महात्मनः।
बिन्दवः पतिता गात्रे सूक्ष्माः सुरभिगन्धिनः॥
adhastād vrajatas tasyāḥ sura-rājño mahātmanaḥ
bindavaḥ patitā gātre sūkṣmā surabhi-gandhinaḥ
adhastāt = below her; vrajataḥ = as he passed; tasyāḥ = of the; sura-rājñaḥ = king of the devas; mahā-ātmanaḥ = greatly intelligent; bindavaḥ = drops [of her tears]; patitāḥ = fell; gātre = on the body; sūkṣmāḥ = minute; surabhi-gandhinaḥ = with the fragrance of a surabhi cow.
Minute drops [of her tears] with the fragrance of a surabhi cow fell on the body of the greatly intelligent king of the devas as he passed below her.
