Chapter 75: Bharata’s Conversation with Kausalyā-devī
Text 2.75.3
वनवासं न जानामि रामस्याहं महात्मनः।
विवासनं वा सौमित्रेः सीतायाश्च यथाभवत्॥
vana-vāsaṁ na jānāmi rāmasyāhaṁ mahātmanaḥ
vivāsanaṁ vā saumitreḥ sītāyāś ca yathābhavat
vana-vāsam = about residence in the forest; na jānāmi = don’t know; rāmasya = Rāma’s; aham = I; mahā-ātmanaḥ = of that great soul; vivāsanam = the exile; vā = or; saumitreḥ = Lakṣmaṇa; sītāyāḥ = Sītā-devī; ca = and; yathā = how; abhavat = took place.
I don’t know about Rāma’s residence in the forest or how the exile of that great soul, Lakṣmaṇa ānd Sītā-devī took place.
