Chapter 76: Bharata Performs the Final Rites for Daśaratha
Text 2.76.14
शिबिकायामथारोप्य राजानं गतचेतसम्।
बाष्पकण्ठा विमनसस्तमूहुः परिचारकाः॥
śibikāyām athāropya rājānaṁ gata-cetasam
bāṣpa-kaṇṭhā vimanasas tam ūhuḥ paricārakāḥ
śibikāyām = on a palanquin; atha = then; āropya = placed and; rājānam = king; gata-cetasam = the dead; bāṣpa-kaṇṭhāḥ = with tears and choked throats; vimanasaḥ = distressed; tam = him; ūhuḥ = carried; paricārakāḥ = servants.
With tears and choked throats, distressed servants then placed the dead king on a palanquin and carried him.
