Chapter 77: Bharata and Śatrughna Lament About Daśaratha’s Departure
Text 2.77.15
ननु भोज्येषु पानेषु वस्त्रेष्वाभरणेषु च।
प्रवारयसि नः सर्वांस्तन्नः कोऽन्यः करिष्यति॥
nanu bhojyeṣu pāneṣu vastreṣv ābharaṇeṣu ca
pravārayasi naḥ sarvāṁs tan naḥ ko ’nyaḥ kariṣyati
nanu bhojyeṣu = food to eat; pāneṣu = drinks; vastreṣu = clothes; ābharaṇeṣu = ornaments; ca = and; pravārayasi = you used to give; naḥ = of Us [Our desired]; sarvān = all; tat = this; naḥ = for Us now; kaḥ = who; anyaḥ = else; kariṣyati = is going to do.
You used to give all of Us [Our desired] food to eat, drinks, clothes and ornaments. Who else is going to do this for Us now?
[King Daśaratha] would show ornaments and so on [to His sons], tell Them to take as They liked and personally make Them take them.
