Chapter 78: Śatrughna Punishes Mantharā
Text 2.78.9
यस्याः कृते वने रामो न्यस्तदेहश्च वः पिता।
सेयं पापा नृशंसा च तस्याः कुरु यथामति॥
yasyāḥ kṛte vane rāmo nyasta-dehaś ca vaḥ pitā
seyaṁ pāpā nṛśaṁsā ca tasyāḥ kuru yathā-mati
yasyāḥ kṛte = because of whom; vane = in the forest; rāmaḥ = Rāma is; nyasta-dehaḥ = gave up his body; ca = and; vaḥ = Your; pitā = father; sā = here is that; iyam = lady; pāpā = sinful; nṛśaṁsā = cruel; ca = and; tasyāḥ kuru = please discipline her; yathā-mati = as You think.
Here is that sinful and cruel lady because of whom Rāma is in the forest and Your father gave up his body. Please discipline her as You think.
