Chapter 79: Bharata Prepares to go With His Army to Meet Rāma
Text 2.79.13
क्रियतां शिल्पिभिः पन्थाः समानि विषमाणि च।
रक्षिणश्चानुसंयान्तु पथि दुर्गविचारकाः॥
kriyatāṁ śilpibhiḥ panthāḥ samāni viṣamāṇi ca
rakṣiṇaś cānusaṁyāntu pathi durga-vicārakāḥ
kriyatām = should; śilpibhiḥ = artisans; panthāḥ = roads so that we can reach Him; samāni = level; viṣamāṇi ca = the uneven; rakṣiṇaḥ = guards; ca = and; anusaṁyāntu = should come [with us]; pathi = on the route; durga-vicārakāḥ = well acquainted with difficult areas and roads.
Artisans should level the uneven roads so that we can reach Him and guards well acquainted with difficult areas and roads should come [with us] on the route.
GLOSS. Durga-vicārakāḥ indicates that [Bharata wanted] people who knew which routes could not be passed through [to accompany them].
