Chapter 80: A Pathway for Bharata’s Journey is Constructed
Text 2.80.9
अपरेऽपूरयन्कूपान्पांसुभिः श्वभ्रमायतम्।
निम्नभागांस्ततः केचित्समांश्चक्रुः समन्ततः॥
apare ’pūrayan kūpān pāṁsubhiḥ śvabhram āyatam
nimna-bhāgāṁs tataḥ kecit samāṁś cakruḥ samantataḥ
apare = others; apūrayan = filled up; kūpān = wells; pāṁsubhiḥ = with sand; śvabhram = pits on the route; āyatam = and wide; nimna-bhāgān = deep places; tataḥ = then; kecit = some; samān cakruḥ = leveled; samantataḥ = all around.
Others filled up wells and wide pits on the route with sand. Some then leveled deep places all around.
The wells and wide pits on the pathway were filled with sand to level the surface [of the pathway].
