Chapter 83: Bharata Reaches Śṛṅgiberapura

शतं सहस्त्राण्यश्वानां समारूढानि राघवम्।
अन्वयुर्भरतं यान्तं सत्यसन्धं जितेन्द्रियम्॥
śataṁ sahasrāṇy aśvānāṁ samārūḍhāni rāghavam
anvayur bharataṁ yāntaṁ satya-sandhaṁ jitendriyam
śatam = on a hundred; sahasrāṇi = thousand; aśvānām = horses; samārūḍhāni = horse riders mounted; rāghavam = the descendant of Raghu; anvayuḥ = followed; bharatam = Bharata; yāntam = as He was proceeding; satya-sandham = one who adhered to truthfulness; jita-indriyam = the self-controlled.
Horse riders mounted on a hundred thousand horses followed Bharata, the descendant of Raghu, the self-controlled one who adhered to truthfulness, as He was proceeding.
