Chapter 83: Bharata Reaches Śṛṅgiberapura
Text 2.83.18
प्रहृष्टमुदिता सेना सान्वयात्कैकयीसुतम्।
भ्रातुरानयने यान्तं भरतं भ्रातृवत्सलम्॥
prahṛṣṭa-muditā senā sānvayāt kaikayī-sutam
bhrātur ānayane yāntaṁ bharataṁ bhrātṛ-vatsalam
prahṛṣṭa-muditā = the joyful and delighted; senā sā = army; anvayāt = followed; kaikayī-sutam = Kaikeyī’s son; bhrātuḥ = His brother [back]; ānayane = to bring; yāntam = and who was on His way; bharatam = Bharata; bhrātṛ-vatsalam = who loved His brother.
The joyful and delighted army followed Kaikeyī’s son Bharata who loved His brother and who was on His way to bring His brother [back].
They were joyful in body, that is, ecstatic with their bodily hairs standing on end and so on. They were also delighted in their minds.
