Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 85: Bharata Reveals His Intentions to Guha
Text 2.85.17

अन्तर्दाहेन दहनः सन्तापयति राघवम्।
वनदाहाभिसन्तप्तं गूढोऽग्निरिव पादपम्॥

antar-dāhena dahanaḥ santāpayati rāghavam
vana-dāhābhisantaptaṁ gūḍho ’gnir iva pādapam

antaḥ-dāhena = by the internal fire of worry; dahanaḥ = the fire of sorrow; santāpayati = burnt; rāghavam = that descendant of Raghu who had been heated up; vana-dāha-abhisantaptam = a tree dried up by a nearby forest fire; gūḍhaḥ = placed within; agniḥ = the fire; iva = like; pādapam = a tree [burns up].

Like the fire placed within a tree [burns up] a tree dried up by a nearby forest fire, the fire of sorrow burnt that descendant of Raghu who had been heated up by the internal fire of worry.

The fire of sorrow exhausted Bharata completely.
