Chapter 86: Guha Relates Rāma’s Pastimes on the Bank of Gaṅgā
Text 2.86.7
सोऽहं प्रियसखं रामं शयानं सह सीतया।
रक्षिष्यामि धनुष्पाणिः सर्वैः स्वैर्ज्ञातिभिः सह॥
so ’haṁ priya-sakhaṁ rāmaṁ śayānaṁ saha sītayā
rakṣiṣyāmi dhanuṣpāṇiḥ sarvaiḥ svair jñātibhiḥ saha
saḥ aham = I; priya-sakham = my dear friend; rāmam = Rāma; śayānam = who is sleeping; saha sītayā = with Sītā; rakṣiṣyāmi = will protect; dhanuṣpāṇiḥ = therefore, with a bow in my hand; sarvaiḥ = and all; svaiḥ = of my; jñātibhiḥ saha = relatives.
Therefore, with a bow in my hand and all of my relatives, I will protect my dear friend Rāma who is sleeping with Sītā-devī.
