Chapter 86: Guha Relates Rāma’s Pastimes on the Bank of Gaṅgā
Text 2.86.17
अतिक्रान्तमतिक्रान्तमनवाप्य मनोरथम्।
राज्ये राममनिक्षिप्य पिता मे विनशिष्यति॥
atikrāntam atikrāntam anavāpya mano-ratham
rājye rāmam anikṣipya pitā me vinaśiṣyati
atikrāntam atikrāntam = lost everything he needed; anavāpya = have not been fulfilled; manaḥ-ratham = his cherished desires; rājye = the kingdom; rāmam = to Rāma; anikṣipya = not having handed over; pitā = father; me = My; vinaśiṣyati = he will perish.
My father lost everything he needed. His cherished desires have not been fulfilled. Not having handed over the kingdom to Rāma, he will perish.
