Chapter 88: Bharata Laments About Rāma’s Predicament
Text 2.88.11
न नूनं दैवतं किञ्चित्कालेन बलवत्तरम्।
यत्र दाशरथी रामो भूमावेव शयीत सः॥
na nūnaṁ daivataṁ kiñcit kālena balavattaram
yatra dāśarathī rāmo bhūmāv eva śayīta saḥ
na = no; nūnam = certainly; daivatam kiñcit = divinity; kālena = than time; balavattaram = is stronger; yatra = because of which; dāśarathī = the sone of Daśaratha; rāmaḥ = [even] Rāma; bhūmau eva = on the ground; śayīta saḥ = sleeps.
“Certainly, no divinity is stronger than time because of which [even] Rāma, the son of Daśaratha, sleeps on the ground.1
