Chapter 91: Bharadvāja’s Hospitality to Bharata, His Army and Family
Text 2.91.6

भरतः प्रत्युवाचेदं प्राञ्जलिस्तं तपोधनम्।
ससैन्यो नोपयातोऽस्मि भगवन्भगवद्भयात्॥

bharataḥ pratyuvācedaṁ prāñjalis taṁ tapo-dhanam
sasainyo nopayāto ’smi bhagavan bhagavad-bhayāt

bharataḥ = Bharata; pratyuvāca = replied; idam = as follows; prāñjaliḥ = joined His palms in supplication; tam = to that sage; tapaḥ-dhanam = rich in austerity; sasainyaḥ = with My army; na = did not; upayātaḥ asmi = I come; bhagavan = O powerful sage; bhagavat-bhayāt = out of fear of Your Holiness.

Bharata joined His palms in supplication and replied as follows to that sage rich in austerity, “O powerful sage, I did not come with My army out of fear of Your Holiness.

Bharata was frightened that the sage would get angry at Him [if he brought His army along].
