Chapter 91: Bharadvāja’s Hospitality to Bharata, His Army and Family

बभूव हि समा भूमिः समन्तात्पञ्चयोजना।
शाद्वलैर्बहुभिश्छन्ना नीलवैडूर्यसन्निभैः॥
babhūva hi samā bhūmiḥ samantāt pañca-yojanā
śādvalair bahubhiś channā nīla-vaiḍūrya-sannibhaiḥ
babhūva hi = was; samā = levelled; bhūmiḥ = the ground; samantāt = on all sides; pañca-yojanā = for five yojanas; śādvalaiḥ = lawns of young grass; bahubhiḥ = with many; channā = and covered; nīla-vaiḍūrya-sannibhaiḥ = that resembled sapphires and cat’s eye gems.
For five yojanas on all sides, the ground was levelled and covered with many lawns of young grass that resembled sapphires and cat’s eye gems.
These were done by the celestials.
