क्लृप्तसर्वासनं श्रीमत्स्वास्तीर्णशयनोत्तमम्।
प्रविवेश महाबाहुरनुज्ञातो महर्षिणा।
वेश्म तद्रत्नसंपूर्णं भरतः केकयीसुतः॥
kḷpta-sarvāsanaṁ śrīmat svāstīrṇa-śayanottamam
praviveśa mahā-bāhur anujñāto maha-rṣiṇā
veśma tad ratna-sampūrṇaṁ bharataḥ kekayī-sutaḥ
kḷpta-sarva-āsanam = it had chairs arranged for all [purposes]; śrīmat = opulent; svāstīrṇa-śayana-uttamam = and excellent beds beautifully overlaid with bedspreads; praviveśa = entered; mahā-bāhuḥ = the mighty-armed; anujñātaḥ = with the permission of; mahā-ṛṣiṇā = the great sage Bharadvāja; veśma = home; tat = that; ratna-sampūrṇam = filled with jewels; bharataḥ = Bharata; kekayī-sutaḥ = son of Kaikeyī.
With the permission of the great sage Bharadvāja, Bharata, the mighty-armed son of Kaikeyī, entered that opulent home filled with jewels. It had chairs arranged for all [purposes] and excellent beds beautifully overlaid with bedspreads.
Kḷpta-sarvāsanam indicates that this palace had chairs for bathing, eating and so on. Mahā-bāhuḥ (“mighty-armed”) indicates that Bharata deserved such a palace. “Son of Kaikeyī” indicates that He had no regard even for the kingdom given to Him by Kaikeyī; so why would He have any regard for this palace?
