Chapter 91: Bharadvāja’s Hospitality to Bharata, His Army and Family

कल्कांश्चूर्णकषायांश्च स्नानानि विविधानि च।
ददृशुर्भाजनस्थानि तीर्थेषु सरितां नराः॥
kalkāṁś cūrṇa-kaṣāyāṁś ca snānāni vividhāni ca
dadṛśur bhājanasthāni tīrtheṣu saritāṁ narāḥ
kalkān = bathing pastes; cūrṇa-kaṣāyān ca = bean decorations; snānāni = bathing essentials; vividhāni ca = of several kinds; dadṛśuḥ = saw; bhājanasthāni = stored in large vessels; tīrtheṣu saritām = on the river ghats; narāḥ = the men.
The men saw bathing pastes, bean decoctions, bathing essentials of several kinds stored in large vessels on the river ghats.
The bathing pastes were derived from āmalakī and so on. “Bathing essentials” were oil, hot water and so on.
