Chapter 92: Bharata Departs for Citrakūṭa

गजकन्या गजाश्चैव हेमकक्ष्याः पताकिनः।
जीमूता इव घर्मान्ते सघोषाः संप्रतस्थिरे॥
gaja-kanyā gajāś caiva hema-kakṣyāḥ patākinaḥ
jīmūtā iva gharmānte saghoṣāḥ sampratasthire
gaja-kanyāḥ = female; gajāḥ = male elephants; ca eva = and; hema-kakṣyāḥ = with golden ropes; patākinaḥ = and carrying banners; jīmūtāḥ = thunderclouds; iva = like; gharma-ante = at the end of summer; saghoṣāḥ = with the sounds of their bells; sampratasthire = set forth.
Female and male elephants with golden ropes and carrying banners set forth with the sounds of their bells like thunderclouds at the end of summer.
