Chapter 93: Bharata Initiates a Search for Rāma’s Residence
Text 2.93.8
अयं गिरिश्चित्रकूट इयं मन्दाकिनी नदी।
एतत्प्रकाशते दूरान्नीलमेघनिभं वनम्॥
ayaṁ giriś citrakūṭa iyaṁ mandākinī nadī
etat prakāśate dūrān nīla-megha-nibhaṁ vanam
ayam giriḥ = the mountain in front of us is; citrakūṭaḥ = Citrakūṭa; iyam = this; mandākinī = Mandākinī; nadī = river is; etat prakāśate = appears; dūrāt = from a distance; nīla-megha-nibham = to be a blue cloud; vanam = the forest in between them.
The mountain in front of us is Citrakūṭa. This river is Mandākinī. The forest in between them appears to be a blue cloud from a distance.
GLOSS. This was the river that the sage had spoken about.
