Chapter 93: Bharata Initiates a Search for Rāma’s Residence
Text 2.93.23
अथ नात्र नरव्याघ्रौ राजपुत्रौ परन्तपौ।
अन्ये रामोपमाः सन्ति व्यक्तमत्र तपस्विनः॥
atha nātra nara-vyāghrau rāja-putrau parantapau
anye rāmopamāḥ santi vyaktam atra tapasvinaḥ
atha = if; na = not; atra = here; nara-vyāghrau = the two tigers among men; rāja-putrau = Princes Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa; parantapau = who scorch Their opponents are; anye = other; rāma-upamāḥ = similar to Rāma; santi = are; vyaktam = certainly; atra = here; tapasvinaḥ = ascetics.
“If the two tigers among men Princes Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa who scorch Their opponents are not here, certainly other ascetics similar to Rāma are here.”
[If ascetics were there,] they could be asked [about the āśrama of Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa].
