Chapter 94: Rāma Describes the Excellence of Citrakūṭa to Sītā
Text 2.94.16
बहुपुष्पफले रम्ये नानाद्विजगणायुते।
विचित्रशिखरे ह्यस्मिन्रतवानस्मि भामिनि॥
bahu-puṣpa-phale ramye nānā-dvija-gaṇāyute
vicitra-śikhare hy asmin ratavān asmi bhāmini
bahu-puṣpa-phale = it is filled with abundant flowers, fruits; ramye = in this pleasant; nānā-dvija-gaṇa-āyute = and birds of several kinds; vicitra-śikhare hi = and its peaks are variegated; asmin = mountain; ratavān = happy; asmi = I am; bhāmini = lovely lady.
Lovely lady, I am happy in this pleasant mountain. It is filled with abundant flowers, fruits and birds of several kinds, and its peaks are variegated.
The forest pleased Lord Rāma’s senses of smell, taste, vision, touch and hearing, especially in the association of Sītā-devī as implied by the word bhāmini (“lovely lady”).
