Chapter 95: Rāma Describes Mandākinī’s Beauty to Sītā
Text 2.95.17
उपस्पृशंस्त्रिषवणं मधुमूलफलाशनः।
नायोध्यायै न राज्याय स्पृहयेऽद्य त्वया सह॥
upaspṛśaṁs tri-ṣavaṇaṁ madhu-mūla-phalāśanaḥ
nāyodhyāyai na rājyāya spṛhaye ’dya tvayā saha
upaspṛśan = bathing; tri-ṣavaṇam = during the three junctures of the day; madhu-mūla-phala-aśanaḥ = and subsisting on honey, roots and fruits; na = no; ayodhyāyai = for Ayodhyā; na rājyāya = or the kingdom; spṛhaye = I have desire; adya = now; tvayā saha = with you.
Bathing during the three junctures of the day and subsisting on honey, roots and fruits with you, I now have no desire for Ayodhyā or the kingdom.1
1 There are three sandhyās or junctures of the day: sunrise, noon and sunset.
