Chapter 97: Rāma Instructs Lakṣmaṇa
Text 2.97.24

एतौ तौ संप्रकाशेते गोत्रवन्तौ मनोरमौ।
वायुवेगसमौ वीर जवनौ तुरगोत्तमौ॥

etau tau samprākāśete gotravantau manoramau
vāyu-vega-samau vīra javanau turagottamau

etau tau = two; samprākāśete = I can see; gotravantau = they are famous; manoramau = charming; vāyu-vega-samau = swift; vīra = O hero; javanau = and equal to the wind in force; turaga-uttamau = excellent horses here.

“O hero, I can see two excellent horses here. They are famous, charming, swift and equal to the wind in force.

Gotravantau also indicates that the two horses were born from good breeds 2. They were excellent, that is, used by kings.1
