Chapter 98: Bharata Locates Rāma’s Āśrama

यावन्न रामं द्रक्ष्यामि लक्ष्मणं वा महाबलम्।
वैदेहीं वा महाभागां न मे शान्तिर्भविष्यति॥
yāvan na rāmaṁ drakṣyāmi lakṣmaṇaṁ vā mahā-balam
vaidehīṁ vā mahā-bhāgāṁ na me śāntir bhaviṣyati
yāvat = as long as; na = do not; rāmam = Rāma; drakṣyāmi = I see; lakṣmaṇam = Lakṣmaṇa; vā = or; mahā-balam = of mighty strength; vaidehīm = Vaidehī; vā = or; mahā-bhāgām = the greatly fortunate; na = no; me = I; śāntiḥ = peace; bhaviṣyati = will have.
As long as I do not see Rāma or Lakṣmaṇa of mighty strength or the greatly fortunate Vaidehī, I will have no peace.
Bharata would not become relieved from His distress or attain auspiciousness 1.
