Chapter 99: Bharata Meets Rāma
Text 2.99.7

ददर्श च वने तस्मिन्महतः सञ्चयान्कृतान्।
मृगाणां महिषाणां च करीषैः शीतकारणात्॥

dadarśa ca vane tasmin mahataḥ sañcayān kṛtān
mṛgāṇāṁ mahiṣāṇāṁ ca karīṣaiḥ śīta-kāraṇāt

dadarśa ca = He saw; vane = forest; tasmin = in that; mahataḥ = large; sañcayān kṛtān = heaps of dried cakes; mṛgāṇām = of deer; mahiṣāṇām = buffaloes; ca = and; karīṣaiḥ = of the dung; śīta-kāraṇāt = for use in the cold season.

He saw large heaps of dried cakes of the dung of deer and buffaloes in that forest for use in the cold season.

The dried cakes of the dung were meant to dissipate the cold.
