तान्पार्थिवान्वारणयूथपाभान्समागतांस्तत्र महत्यरण्ये।
वनौकसस्तेऽपि समीक्ष्य सर्वेऽप्यश्रूण्यमुञ्चन्प्रविहाय हर्षम्॥
tān pārthivān vāraṇa-yūthapābhān
samāgatāṁs tatra mahaty araṇye
vanaukasas te ’pi samīkṣya sarve
’py aśrūṇy amuñcan pravihāya harṣam
tān = those; pārthivān = princes; vāraṇa-yūthapa-ābhān = who resembled the leaders of elephants; samāgatān = [gathered] together; tatra mahati = in the great; araṇye = forest; vana-okasaḥ te api = the residents of the forest; samīkṣya = upon seeing; sarve api = all; aśrūṇi = tears; amuñcan = shed; pravihāya = then gave up and; harṣam = their joy.
Upon seeing those princes who resembled the leaders of elephants [gathered] together in the great forest and who were filled with happiness, all the residents of the forest then gave up their joy and shed tears.
