ततः सुमन्त्रेण गुहेन चैव समीयतू राजसुतावरण्ये।
दिवाकरश्चैव निशाकरश्च यथाम्बरे शुक्रबृहस्पतिभ्याम्॥
tataḥ sumantreṇa guhena caiva samīyatū rāja-sutāv araṇye
divākaraś caiva niśākaraś ca yathāmbare śukra-bṛhaspatibhyām
tataḥ = then; sumantreṇa = Sumantra; guhena = Guha; ca eva = and; samīyatuḥ = met; rāja-sutau = the princes Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa; araṇye = in the forest; divākaraḥ ca eva = the sun; niśākaraḥ = the moon; ca =and; yathā = just as; ambare = in the sky; śukra-bṛhaspatibhyām = meet Venus and Jupiter.
Then the princes Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa met Sumantra and Guha in the forest just as the sun and the moon meet Venus and Jupiter in the sky.1
1 This was the first time Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa met Sumantra and Guha in the forest. They had been together at Guha’s place, but in the forest this was the first time they got together.
