Chapter 100: Rāma Instructs Bharata About the Duties of a King

कच्चिदर्थं विनिश्चित्य लघुमूलं महोदयम्।
क्षिप्रमारभसे कर्तुं न दीर्घयसि राघव॥
kaccid arthaṁ viniścitya laghu-mūlaṁ mahodayam
kṣipram ārabhase kartuṁ na dīrghayasi rāghava
kaccit = I hope; artham = a plan; viniścitya = that You finalize; laghu-mūlam = which requires little effort; mahā-udayam = while producing great results; kṣipram = quickly; ārabhase kartum = in implementing; na = do not; dīrghayasi = You delay; rāghava = O descendant of Raghu.
O descendant of Raghu, I hope You do not delay in quickly implementing a plan that You finalize which involves little effort while producing great results.
He implies, “Time quickly drinks up the [possible] results of an activity when it is not carried out.”
