Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 100: Rāma Instructs Bharata About the Duties of a King
Text 2.100.23

कच्चित्सहस्रान्मूर्खाणामेकमिच्छसि पण्डितम्।
पण्डितो ह्यर्थकृच्छ्रेषु कुर्यान्निःश्रेयसं महत्॥

kaccit sahasrān mūrkhāṇām ekam icchasi paṇḍitam
paṇḍito hy artha-kṛcchreṣu kuryān niḥśreyasaṁ mahat

kaccit = do; sahasrān = to give up thousands; mūrkhāṇām = of fools; ekam = for the sake of one; icchasi = You desire; paṇḍitam = thinker; paṇḍitaḥ hi = one thinker can; artha-kṛcchreṣu = during a financial crisis; kuryāt niḥśreyasam = benefit; mahat = greatly.

Do You desire to give up thousands of fools for the sake of one thinker? One thinker can greatly benefit during a financial crisis.

Such a thinker can advise on how one can certainly achieve great opulence even in the midst of a financial crisis.

He indirectly reiterates this in the next verse.
