कच्चिदार्यो विशुद्धात्माक्षारितश्चोरकर्मणा।
अपृष्टः शास्त्रकुशलैर्न लोभाद्बध्यते शुचिः॥
kaccid āryo viśuddhātmākṣāritaś cora-karmaṇā
apṛṣṭaḥ śāstra-kuśalair na lobhād badhyate śuciḥ
kaccit = I hope that; āryaḥ = gentleman; viśuddha-ātmā = who is unpolluted in body, mind and words; ākṣāritaḥ = and who is somehow accused 16; cora-karmaṇā = of theft; apṛṣṭaḥ śāstra-kuśalaiḥ = without being interrogated by persons expert in the scriptures; na = no; lobhāt = out of greed for money; badhyate = is arrested; śuciḥ = and pure in character.
I hope that no gentleman, who is unpolluted in body, mind and words and pure in character and who is somehow accused of theft, is arrested out of greed for money without being interrogated by persons expert in the scriptures.
