Chapter 101: Bharata Informs Rāma About Daśaratha’s Death
Text 2.101.9

त्वामेव शोचंस्तव दर्शनेप्सुस्त्वय्येव सक्तामनिवर्त्य बुद्धिम्।
त्वया विहीनस्तव शोकरुग्णस्त्वां संस्मरन्नस्तमितः पिता ते॥

tvām eva śocaṁs tava darśanepsus
tvayy eva saktām anivartya buddhim
tvayā vihīnas tava śoka-rugṇas
tvāṁ saṁsmarann astamitaḥ pitā te

tvām eva śocan = and while lamenting about You; tava darśana-īpsuḥ = he desired to see You; tvayi eva = to You; saktām = was attached; anivartya = and not diverted [from You]; buddhim = his intelligence; tvayā vihīnaḥ = in Your absence; tava = about You; śoka-rugṇaḥ = he was afflicted by sorrow; tvām = You; saṁsmaran = while remembering; astamitaḥ = died; pitā = father; te = Your.

“Your father died while remembering You and while lamenting about You. He was afflicted by sorrow about You in Your absence. He desired to see You. His intelligence was attached to You and not diverted [from You].”

While lamenting about You, while desiring to see You, with his intelligence attached to You without being diverted [from You], shattered in distress about You when forsaken by You, Your father died while being absorbed in remembrance of You.
