Chapter 102: Rāma Performs Śrāddha for King Daśaratha
Text 2.102.41
तेन वित्रासिता नागाः करेणुपरिवारिताः।
आवासयन्तो गन्धेन जग्मुरन्यद्वनं ततः॥
tena vitrāsitā nāgāḥ kareṇu-parivāritāḥ
āvāsayanto gandhena jagmur anyad vanaṁ tataḥ
tena = by that; vitrāsitāḥ = terrified; nāgāḥ = male elephants; kareṇu-parivāritāḥ = surrounded by female elephants; āvāsayantaḥ = exuding; gandhena = a fragrance; jagmuḥ = went; anyat = to another; vanam = forest; tataḥ = then.
Terrified by that, male elephants surrounded by female elephants exuding a fragrance then went to another forest.
