Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 103: Rāma Meets His Mothers and Vasiṣṭha
Text 2.103.13
अतो दुःखतरं लोके न किंचित्प्रतिभाति मा।
यत्र रामः पितुर्दद्यादिङ्गुदीक्षोदमृद्धिमान्॥
ato duḥkhataraṁ loke na kiñcit pratibhāti mā
yatra rāmaḥ pitur dadyād iṅgudī-kṣodam ṛddhimān
ataḥ = than; duḥkhataram = more miserable; loke = in this world; na = nothing; kiñcit = there is; pratibhāti = it appears that; mā = to me; yatra = when; rāmaḥ = Rāma; pituḥ = to His father; dadyāt = has to offer; iṅgudī-kṣodam = an oilcake of crushed iṅgudī seeds; ṛddhimān = the prosperous.
It appears to me that there is nothing more miserable in this world than when the prosperous Rāma has to offer an oilcake of crushed iṅgudī seeds to His father.
Rāma is described here as prosperous in the sense of being fit for [the prosperity of] royal opulence.
