उपोपविष्टस्तु तथा स वीर्यवांस्तपस्विवेषेण समीक्ष्य राघवम्।
श्रिया ज्वलन्तं भरतः कृताञ्जलिर्यथा महेन्द्रः प्रयतः प्रजापतिम्॥
upopaviṣṭas tu tathā sa vīryavāṁs
tapasvi-veṣeṇa samīkṣya rāghavam
śriyā jvalantaṁ bharataḥ kṛtāñjalir
yathā mahendraḥ prayataḥ prajā-patim
upopaviṣṭaḥ tu = who was seated below [Rāma]; tathā saḥ vīryavān = the heroic; tapasvi-veṣeṇa = in the dress of an ascetic; samīkṣya = upon seeing; rāghavam = Rāghava; śriyā = with prosperity; jvalantam = and blazing; bharataḥ = Bharata; kṛta-añjaliḥ = joined His palms in supplication; yathā = like; mahendraḥ = the great Indra; prayataḥ = self-controlled; prajā-patim = before Lord Brahmā, the progenitor of all living entities.
Upon seeing Rāghava in the dress of an ascetic and blazing with prosperity, the heroic Bharata who was seated below [Rāma] joined His palms in supplication like the great Indra self-controlled before Lord Brahmā, the progenitor of all living entities.
