Chapter 104: Bharata Beseeches Rāma to Rule the Kingdom
Text 2.104.11
भवत्वविधवा भूमिः समग्रा पतिना त्वया।
शशिना विमलेनेव शारदी रजनी यथा॥
bhavatv avidhavā bhūmiḥ samagrā patinā tvayā
śaśinā vimaleneva śāradī rajanī yathā
bhavatu = should; avidhavā = no [longer] be a widow; bhūmiḥ = earth; samagrā = the entire; patinā = as her husband; tvayā = with You; śaśinā vimalena iva = resembling the spotless moon; śāradī rajanī = the autumn night; yathā = resembling.
With You resembling the spotless moon as her husband, the entire earth resembling the autumn night should no [longer] be a widow.1
