Bharata wanted to tell Rāma, “You cannot even tolerate My tears. How will You tolerate the tears of these [secretaries]? Considering this I came here with an army consisting of chariots, elephants, horses and infantry soldiers—as if ready for war. I came with these secretaries because You can ignore My pleas but You cannot transgress the plea of these honorable secretaries who run our kingdom. Why should I beg this of You? Am I not Your younger brother? I am Your disciple too—I have a mantra from You. Am  I also not Your servant who can be purchased or sold [by You as You like]? For these infallible reasons, You should be merciful to me. You should fulfill My plea.”
